RSPCA Pet Retreat Scheme
PetRetreat is a fostering scheme the RSPCA run, where we take in and foster pets of those who are fleeing abusive relationships and moving into a refuge. We foster their pets for up to 12 months until the get back on their feet and are in a position to take their beloved pet back, knowing they are both no longer in danger.
We are in desperate need of some more fosters across the Southern Region of the country, to take in cats and dogs of all sizes and breeds. We get a lot of different dogs through the scheme, so you will need to be happy with any breed or character that comes your way! All dogs are subject to a two week assessment with our trained staff, all animals are neutered, vaccinated and chipped before going into foster care – all they need from you is a loving temporary home!
Fosters are subject to two references and a homecheck, where we will make sure your fencing is at least 6 foot high to ensure no dogs can escape. You will need to be comfortable with dogs being kept on a lead at all times, and cats staying in the house at all times.
